Padlock vs. Combination Lock?
Several differences differentiate between a padlock and a combination lock. The first difference between the two that will be obvious is the accessibility between a padlock and a combination lock. A padlock is accessed by using a unique key that is given to the buyer once the padlock is purchased, and this then will internally open the mechanism. Alternatively, a combination lock is using a number dial mechanism that is also specific to each lock; however, the number is set by the user once purchased, and similarly internally opens the lock once placing in the number in the specific order. Although the two do not share many similarities, they do have one, which is that the combination lock sometimes can also be used as a padlock, as they occasionally possess a unique key, as well as their number dial. The combination lock can be considered to be more convenient, as it has no key. Meaning your keychain is lighter; however, this can also be considered a burden. If the combination for the lock is forgotten, you will need to find a means to open it.
