Types of Self-Storage
Need more room? Self-storage is the answer
Whether you need personal storage for seasonal items, personal collections or a trove of treasures, we have you covered. We offer secure units with flexible month-to-month leases in modern, clean premises. Many of our centres have resident managers, and our staff are storage specialists who will ensure you only pay for the space and services you need.
- Secure Storage
As soon as you’ve padlocked your unit and paid your monthly account, you will be the only person who can access your items. We take security seriously, with PIN-coded access and CCTV surveillance utilised to help keep your storage secure. Some National Storage locations even feature individual door alarms for added peace of mind.
- Convenient Access
You can access your self-storage unit during your centre’s access hours, which typically extend from the early morning to late evening. These hours can vary from centre to centre, so be sure to check by visiting the relevant location page. Most National Storage centres also offer 24-hour access if you make prior arrangements.
- Insurance
If it’s worth storing, it’s worth insuring. We are pleased to offer our customers competitively priced insurance specifically for self-storage – perfect for adding extra peace of mind to your personal storage solution. Find out more about this here, or ask our staff about insuring your possessions when you organise your storage rental.
- Packaging Solutions
Moving your things from home to your storage unit (or just from place to place) is a breeze thanks to our wide range of moving supplies. With boxes, moving blankets, tape, bubble wrap and more, we have everything you need to keep your items safe and organised while in transit. To make things even easier, we also offer truck, trailer and vehicle hire to help you on moving day.
Self-Storage FAQs
- Why might I need self-storage?
There are many reasons self-storage could benefit you for a temporary or ongoing period. For example, you might be:
- Moving house and struggling to find space for all your belongings
- Planning to downsize and needing a space to act as the spare room you no longer have
- Preparing for long-term travel and wanting somewhere secure to keep your valuables
- Wanting to cull clutter and introduce more free space to your home
- Looking for a way to keep a collection of items without it taking over your house.
There are plenty of other situations that lead our customers to self-storage. Just think about what you could achieve if your garage, laundry, spare room or living space wasn’t always buried under a pile of stuff!
- What can I use in a store in my self-storage unit?
Virtually anything – as long as it’s legal and sensible. We do have a list of things we can’t allow you to store in your unit, but you’ll generally rule these items out using common sense anyway!
Our customers frequently use their personal storage units for:
- Furniture
- Electronics and appliances
- Files and documents
- Seasonal items
- Books, magazines and newspapers
- CDs and DVDs
- Vehicles, caravans and recreational equipment.
