Buy Tape Online

Packing tape is a sticky adhesive that secures two pieces of the box together and keeps them from falling apart. Tape is among one of the most crucial and essential aspects when preparing for a move or storage. After purchasing and packing your boxes, it is imperative that you then use tape to secure them. Without this, the packages will not keep your items secure and can potentially damage them. When selecting your tape, it is crucial to choose one that will stay together and keep your belongings safe. Purchasing packing tape that does not correctly stick together the pieces of the box can result in your belongings becoming potentially damaged, and therefore create an unnecessary cost in your moving process.

What is packing tape?

Packing tape is an industrial-grade tape that sticks boxes together and ensures that your goods are kept safe during travel or storage by re-enforcing the box. The use of packing tape can lower the time and costs involved with moving, as it is an essential and preventative measure that will make sure that your goods will stay securely in your box. If packing tape is not used when storing your items away in their containers, they have the potential of falling out of the box and potentially damaging the items. This, in turn, will mean more money and time lost during your move.

Is packing tape damaging?

Packing tape is handy at its job, and because this, its adhesive can sometimes stick around. Several issues can arise if the tape is removed incorrectly, such as ruining the appearance of property, adhering to other things, or even attracting dirt. Luckily, there are a few ways to remove the tape without facing such issues. The first step is to remove all tape from your item. If the packing tape proves to be challenging to unstick, then set your hairdryer to medium and this will soften the adhesive once applied to the tape. After this, apply an oil-based solution to a clean rag, and test this on a small bit of adhesive. Leave this there for 5-10 minutes, then use a dry rag to see if the adhesive lifts. If it does, apply the oil-solution to all parts of where the packing tape was. If this does not work, you may need to use a commercial solvent-based goo remover. Like the oil-based solution, apply the commercial solvent-based goo remover to a clean rag, and test the area. Carefully read the label as glass, plastic, and finished wood can be damaged from remover. Once the adhesive has lifted, wash the area where the packing tape was with soapy water

Is packing type recyclable?

One of the most critical questions when it comes to packing tape is, “is it recyclable?” Simply, it is not. Although paper-based tapes can be recyclable, as packing tape is polypropylene-based, it cannot be recycled as easily. Yet, there are still ways to ensure the boxes that you use your tape on can be. The first solution you need to do is to remove the packing tape from the pack. If you have too much tape left on the box from when you were moving, the parcels will get snagged in the recycling plant and will be deemed not recyclable. Therefore, you must try and remove as much tape as possible when putting your cardboard into recycling.

How much packing type do I need?

One of the most commonly asked questions when buying tape is “how much packing tape do I need?” Many different reasons come about when finding out how much packing tape is needed. The first factor to consider is how many boxes will I be needing. Once you find this out, you can more accurately guess how much is required. The tape is to be used sparingly, so if you only have several boxes, one roll of packing tape is more enough. However, if you find yourself having tens of packages, then it is best to get two or three rolls of tape. When finishing up your move, by using the tape sparingly, you will save your time by not needing to take it all off.
